Brandon Edwards, 37, is happily married and was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Brandon “Dubbs” has over 13 years of law enforcement and military experience and more than 15 years of training experience. During his term in the military, Brandon served as a Cavalry Scout (19D). Brandon served a 16-month deployment in Iraq from 2006 to 2008 and a 13-month deployment in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2010. Brandon has actively pursued and engaged enemy combatants, from the reconnaissance phase to the egress (exfiltration) phase. After separating honorably from the military, Brandon deployed as a civilian to train Afghan Army soldiers.

Brandon then served the central Texas area as a Senior patrol officer for 7 years. He was certified as a Field Training Officer to train cadets upon their graduation from the academy and trained probationary police officers (PPO’s) for 3 years. Brandon also taught driver training to cadets while in the academy. Cadets learned to “Drive like an Officer” and became proficient in controlling the physics of the patrol car, pushing it to the limit. Brandon also trained in service officers’ advanced driving techniques and the precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver.

Additionally, Brandon served as a Mental Health Officer, Field Training Officer, Driver Trainer, Intoxilizer Operator. Brandon is excited to learn and driven to train. He ensures his students understand the why and how of what they are learning to identify the application of learned skills based on their knowledge base.
